Education is our Priority

Our educational model is the gift that keeps on giving.

Since we began in 2012, we have successfully trained 5 spine surgeons, dozens of orthopedic residents, as well as dozens of nurses, technologists, and ancillary medical staff.

We not only provide one-on-one, in-person teaching but we also put on virtual and in-person, week-long seminars and talks in Spanish which are then downloaded onto our YouTube channel, so that they are not only available to those participating but also to anyone in the world!

In this way we stretch our reach beyond our geographical focus and ensure global impact and sustainability.

Additionally, those we train continue to pay it forward by training others, thereby ensuring our legacy. For example, one of the surgeons trained by POP is now living in another city in the Dominican Republic and is passing on the techniques he learned with POP to other spine surgeons in training who will hopefully one day do the same.

This is in line with the motto that inspired us from the very beginning:

“Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day; teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.”
